Terms & Conditions

These are the standard terms on which Ludlow Windows & Doors Ltd ("we", "us") supplies survey, quotation, supply and installation services. They apply to every customer ("you") unless we agree something different in writing.

1. Quote and survey

We provide a free, no-obligation survey at your property. The written quote we issue afterwards is valid for 60 days from the date of issue and is held to the price stated, save for unforeseen structural issues identified after acceptance (e.g. a defective lintel) which we will notify before incurring any extra cost.

2. Acceptance and deposit

A contract is formed when you sign and return the quotation. A deposit of up to 25% may be requested at that point; the balance is due on completion. We do not take a deposit before survey.

3. Lead times and fitting

Standard UPVC and composite installations are typically fitted within 4–6 weeks of order; bespoke aluminium and conservatories within 6–10 weeks. The exact installation date is confirmed in writing before any payment is taken.

4. Your obligations

• Provide safe access to the openings to be worked on.
• Move curtains, blinds, ornaments and breakables away from the work area.
• Inform us of any asbestos, lead, or other hazardous materials known to be in the property.
• Ensure pets and children are kept safely away from the work area during fitting.

5. Guarantee

All frames are covered by a 10-year insurance-backed guarantee through our IBG provider. Sealed units carry a 5-year guarantee against misting. Workmanship is guaranteed by us in writing for 12 months from completion. Full guarantee documentation is provided on completion.

6. Cancellation

You may cancel without charge within 14 days of signing the quotation under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, except where bespoke goods have already been put into production at your written instruction. Cancellations after that point may incur reasonable costs already committed.

7. Payment

Balance payment is due within 7 days of completion. We accept bank transfer or cheque; we do not handle cash on site. Interest may be charged on overdue balances under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 where applicable.

8. Liability

We carry £5m public liability insurance. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for any matter for which liability cannot lawfully be limited under UK consumer law.

9. Building regulations

All installations of replacement windows and doors are notified to building control under FENSA / Competent Person Scheme rules. The certificate is sent to you within 6 weeks of completion.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
